Carolyn Hollar, 82, Harrodsburg, widow of Sidney Hollar, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born January 27, 1942, in Carlisle, KY, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Nellie (Emmons) Hurst. Carolyn was a homemaker and was a member of Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include: a daughter: Monnie (Tim) Berger of Harrodsburg, KY; one son: Tony (Susan) Hollar of Ohio; four grandchildren: Caleb & Sammy Berger, Chad Hollar (Selena) and Dawn Thomas (Randy), six great grandchildren: Brandon Thomas (Rachel), Elizabeth McClurg (Tobie), Anthony Hollar, Chadwick Hollar, Chloe Thomas and Luke Thomas. In addition to her husband, Sidney Hollar, Carolyn was preceded in death by her three siblings, Wanda H. Small, Brooks Hurst and Arnold Hurst. Visitation will be 2- 4 pm Sunday; March 17 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Garland Hawkins will start at 4pm. Private burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Tony Hollar, Tim Berger, Dawn Thomas, Chad Hollar, Caleb Berger, Anthony Hollar, Samuel Berger and Chadwick Hollar. Honorary bearers will be: Mike Barnard, John Moffett, John Wayne Peavler and Tony Shirley. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com.
