Gilbert C. "Sonny" Driskell, 78, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Joyce Ann (Cook) Sharp Driskell, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at home. Born October 2, 1942, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Gilbert H. and Elizabeth A. (Robinson) Driskell.
Sonny was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired mail carrier and full time farmer.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Joyce, include: his son: Brian (Shannon) C. Driskell of Lancaster, KY and two step sons: Jon (Rebekah) Sharp of Lawrenceburg, KY and Jeremy (Frances) Sharp of Middletown, VA; he also has two grandchildren: Courtney and Dylan Driskell. Sonny was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte More Sims Driskill.
Funeral services will be conducted by Br. James Byrd, 11 am Wednesday; March 10 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday evening.
Pallbearers: Elwood Byrd, Jesse Kendrick, Roy Lee Pulliam, James Dean, Mike Estes, Johnny Bailey, Marlin Followell and Charles Lewis.
Memorial donations are to be directed to: New Providence Presbyterian church, 3301 Louisville Road, Salvisa, KY 40372.
