Obituary of Earl Kenneth Sherrow

Earl Kenneth Sherrow, 87, widower of Ina Winchester Sherrow, of Harrodsburg, died July 28, 2018 at his residence.

Born May 26, 1931, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Jessie and Bernie Ray Sherrow. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, retired from Corning Inc. where he was a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union and was an avid camper, UK sports fan, wood worker and enjoyed selling newspapers at The Harrodsburg Herald on Wednesday afternoons.

Survivors include: two daughters, Donna (Tim) Murphy of Harrodsburg and Judy (Thomas) Schleier of Seguin, TX; four grandchildren, April (Myron) Ellis, Merideth (Tyler) Pittman, Jacy Schleier and Eric Schleier; three great-grandchildren, Trevor Ellis and Sawyer and Aniston Pittman; one special niece, Autumn (Chad) Lane and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ersie Ellis, Evon Curtis, Juanita Bishop and Hazel Woods and three brothers, Sam Adams, Clyde Sherrow and Clarence Sherrow.

Funeral services will he held Tuesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Gary Spencer and Merideth Pittman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 30 from 5-8 p.m. at Ransdell’s.

Pallbearers will be Eric Schleier, Kenny Curtis, Jerry Winchester, Mike Winchester, Gary Winchester and Shawn Doty. Honorary pallbearers will be Irvine Winchester, IC and Delia Phillips and the Derby City Coachmen.
