DOROTHY GIBSON LOCKARD Dorothy Gibson Lockard, 86, Burgin, KY, widow of George Lee Lockard died Thursday, January 08, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medial Center in Danville. Born March 19, 1917 in Pineville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Frances Moody Gibson. She was a Home Economist for the Kentucky Utilities Co., a Bell County Bookmobile Librarian, and a Pineville Community Hospital Patient Representative. Survivors include: a son Rex and his wife Norma Lockard, Jeffersonville, IN; three daughters, Jane and her husband Eddie Groh Hoskins, Maitland, Florida, Mary George and her husband Bill DeVary, Lexington, and Lynn and her husband Phil Slusher, Harrodsburg; one brother, Cecil Gibson, Louisville, a sister, Genevieve Carr, Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Floyd and Edgar Gibson. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 10th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Mike Hamby. Burial will be in the Pineville Kentucky Cemetery with committal services conducted by Bro. Charles Jones. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Ruby Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Bearers. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Burgin Baptist Church.
